Product Description

Twin red expanding mandrels on motorized decoiler

Full view of the motorized decoiler: two bright red expanding mandrels are carried on A-frame supports of the off-white square-tube frame, each driven by its own finned motor through gears, with a control box on the right support holding selector knobs and a mushroom emergency stop. The rear mandrel and motor let you reload while the front coil feeds.Expanding mandrel arms and braces on motorized decoiler

Close-up of the expanding mandrel of the motorized decoiler: the long red shaft with threaded ends carries a cage of red rectangular bars linked by angled braces, the mechanical gripping structure that presses out against the coil inner diameter. The A-frame support on the off-white frame is visible, with the second mandrel of this twin-head machine behind.Reduction gears with blue bearing block on motorized decoiler

Drive transmission of the motorized decoiler: the large dark spur gear on the horizontal shaft meshes with a smaller pinion coupled to the motor to give the reduction drive, with the shaft held in a blue-painted bearing block bolted to the light grey frame. The motor carries a riveted nameplate, an orange cap and a small QR sticker.

Finned drive motor with eye bolt on motorized decoiler

Drive motor of the motorized decoiler: the cast housing with deep horizontal cooling fins carries a bronze lifting eye bolt on top, a terminal box with black power cable and a yellow safety warning label with lightning symbol, while the fan cover at the far end holds the China energy label plate and the fins carry the stamped nameplate.

FWD REV switch and e-stop on motorized decoiler

Operator panel of the motorized decoiler: the off-white sheet-metal control box holds a selector switch labelled FWD/REV for forward and reverse mandrel rotation, a knurled black knob and a large red mushroom emergency stop, with the finned drive motor mounted alongside and the corrugated cable conduit entering through a metal plate on top.

Motorized Decoiler - Built by XINNUO Since 1995

XINNUO has been manufacturing cold roll forming equipment since 1995, and the motorized decoiler is supplied both as a stand-alone coil feeding unit and as part of our complete lines. Because we build purlin lines, roof panel lines, composite panel lines, shutter door lines, floor deck lines and cut-to-length lines, the decoiler is matched to the coil weight, inner diameter and strip width that the downstream machine actually runs - not selected from a fixed catalogue size.

The twin-head design carries two mechanically expanding mandrels on one square-tube frame, each driven by its own finned motor through gear reduction, so the next coil can be loaded while the current one feeds the line. Operators control forward and reverse rotation and emergency stop from the panel, and the frame and mandrel are built in our own workshop alongside the main machines.

Typical layouts place the decoiler roughly three metres ahead of the forming section, with lengths around 1.0 to 1.7 metres depending on configuration, so it integrates cleanly with an existing or new line. We have exported to more than 150 countries with installation guidance, operator training and long-term spare parts support.

FAQ

Q1: What is a motorized decoiler?

A: It is the powered coil feeding unit at the start of a roll forming line. It holds the steel coil on a mandrel and drives it forward so strip enters the forming machine at a controlled rate, instead of the strip being pulled by the machine alone.

Q2: Why choose a twin-head decoiler instead of a single head?

A: With two mandrels on one frame you load the next coil on the idle head while the other one feeds the line. When the running coil ends you switch over, so the forming machine stops for seconds rather than waiting for a crane and a fresh coil.

Q3: Is the mandrel hydraulic or mechanical?

A: The mandrels on this unit are mechanically expanding - a central shaft with radiating arms and bars that press outward against the coil inner diameter. Hydraulic expansion and coil cars can be quoted as options if your coil weight or loading method calls for them.

Q4: How is a coil loaded onto the mandrel?

A: The coil is brought to the decoiler by crane or forklift, positioned against the mandrel, then the expanding bars are tightened so the coil is gripped from the inside and turns with the mandrel. We supply loading advice based on your coil weight and handling equipment.

Q5: What controls does the operator have?

A: The control box provides forward and reverse mandrel rotation, a speed or setting knob and a mushroom emergency stop, so the operator can thread the strip by hand at low speed and reverse the mandrel to correct alignment.

Q6: How does the decoiler keep pace with the forming machine?

A: The decoiler runs at a speed matched to the line, and variable-frequency control with a free loop between decoiler and forming machine is available so the strip feeds smoothly without tension spikes or slack.

Q7: What information do you need to size the decoiler?

A: Coil weight, coil inner and outer diameter, strip width and thickness, the line speed of your forming machine, and your power supply. With those we confirm the mandrel size, frame duty and motor rating.

Q8: How do I get a quotation?

A: Send your coil and line details to WhatsApp/Wechat +86 188 0307 8605 or sara@xinnuomachine.com, and our engineer replies within 24 hours with a configuration proposal, price and layout advice.
